PTA DEMANDS TO IMPOSE COMPLETE “BAN” ON EXPORT OF WET BLUE LEATHER/AW HIDES & SKINS AND PICKLED LEATHER FROM PAKISTAN

Mr. Khurshid Alam, Chairman, Pakistan Tanners Association informed to the Print & Electronic Media in a press statement issued today that unanimously decision was taken by the Central Executive Committee of Pakistan Tanners Association in its today Meeting held in Karachi & Lahore simultaneously through Vide Conference System to “ IMPOSE COMPLETE BAN ON EXPORT OF ALL KINDS OF WET BLUE LEATHER INCLUDING WET BLUE/SPLIT WET BLUE LEATEHR / RAW HIDES & SKINS AND PICKLED LEATHER FROM PAKISTAN to ensure availability of this basic raw materials for the local Leather Industry of Pakistan.

Another important issue for the smuggling of Live animals to Iran & Afghanistan was also came under discussion during the Meeting of the Central Executive Committee of PTA and it was also unanimously passed the Resolution to take up the issue MORE STRONGLY with the authorities concerned to stop the smuggling of live animals from Pakistan, which is also the major cause of scarcity of leather skins in Pakistan as well as increasing meat prices in Pakistan for the general masses.

A strong Representation is also being forwarded to the Minister for Commerce, Secretary Commerce, Member Customs, Chief Executive, TDAP and other concerned Government Authorities for issuance of Immediate Notification/SRO for Banning on all kinds of Wet Blue Leather including wet blue/split wet blue leather /Raw Hides & Skins and Pickled Leather from Pakistan for the supreme interest to cater to the needs of basic raw materials for Leather Industry of Pakistan for meeting their committed export orders in time for fetching precious foreign exchange for the national exchequer.
